Account Locked

A locked account has one of several very different causes, and they are not equally reversible. A security freeze usually clears in a day. A self-exclusion is designed not to clear at all. Working out which one you are dealing with is the first step, because the right action differs completely.

Security or verification holds

The most common and the most fixable. Accounts are frozen for routine reasons: repeated failed logins, a login from an unfamiliar device or location, a large first withdrawal, or outstanding FICA documents.

These clear once the check is satisfied. Contact support through the official app or website — never a link sent to you by message — and supply whatever verification they ask for. Usually it is resolved the same day.

Duplicate accounts

One account per person is standard, and duplicates are closed when found, with winnings on them typically voided.

If you lost access to an old account and opened a new one, say so plainly to support rather than continuing on the second account. Recovering the original is the correct path and it goes much better volunteered than discovered.

Self-exclusion and time-outs — the important distinction

A time-out is a short cooling-off period. The account locks for a set number of days and then reopens on its own. Nothing needs doing.

Self-exclusion is deliberately different. It is designed to be difficult to reverse, because a block you can undo in a bad moment is not a protection at all. Depending on the length chosen, it may not be liftable early under any circumstances.

If you self-excluded and now want back in, the honest question is whether the reason you excluded has actually changed. The waiting period is not an obstacle to work around — it is the entire mechanism. Free, confidential counselling is available on 0800 006 008 through the National Responsible Gambling Programme, and it is worth a call before you spend energy on getting the block lifted. See the tools and what each one does.

Getting it resolved

Contact support through the official app or website with your account details and any reference from the notification you received. Be straightforward about what happened — accounts locked for verification reasons resolve quickly when the customer supplies documents rather than argues.

Never respond to a message asking for payment to unlock an account. No licensed operator charges a fee to restore access or release funds. That is a scam and it is not coming from your bookmaker.

Frequently asked questions

Why has my account been locked?

Usually a routine security or verification hold — failed logins, an unfamiliar device, a large first withdrawal, or outstanding FICA documents. Less commonly a duplicate account, or a self-exclusion or time-out you set yourself.

What is the difference between a time-out and self-exclusion?

A time-out is a short cooling-off period that reopens on its own. Self-exclusion is deliberately hard to reverse, because a block you can undo in a bad moment offers no protection. Some lengths cannot be lifted early at all.

Can I get a self-exclusion lifted early?

Often not, and that is by design. The waiting period is the mechanism rather than an obstacle. If you want it lifted, it is worth asking whether the reason you excluded has changed — free confidential counselling is on 0800 006 008.

Someone asked me to pay to unlock my account. Is that legitimate?

No. It is a scam. No licensed operator charges a fee to restore access or release funds. Contact the operator through the official app or website rather than any link or number sent to you.
