1Voucher Deposits
1Voucher lets you fund a betting account with cash and no bank account at all. You buy a voucher at a retailer, you get a PIN, you type that PIN into the cashier, and the value credits instantly. For a large number of South Africans this is not a convenience — it is the only practical route in.
Buying and redeeming
- Buy a 1Voucher for cash at a participating retailer — supermarkets, petrol stations, spaza shops and other outlets across the country.
- Keep the slip. The PIN is printed on it.
- In the cashier choose Deposit, then 1Voucher.
- Enter the PIN exactly as printed.
- The value credits to your balance immediately.
Keep the slip until the value is in your account. Not until you have typed it — until you have seen the balance move. A lost slip with an unredeemed PIN is very difficult to recover, and the retailer cannot reprint it.
Leftover value and partial redemption
If your voucher is worth more than you want to deposit, you can often redeem part of it and receive a new PIN for the remainder rather than being forced to load the whole amount.
Where that applies, write the new PIN down immediately. It replaces the original, the original stops working, and the remaining value lives entirely in that new number. This is the single most common way people lose voucher value — they redeem part of it, close the window, and the change is gone.
When a voucher will not redeem
- "Already redeemed" — the PIN has been used. If you have not used it, the slip may have been compromised in the shop or the number misread. Contact the voucher issuer with the slip; the casino cannot resolve a voucher that was spent elsewhere.
- Digits misread. 0 and O, 1 and I, 5 and S. Retype rather than assuming the voucher is faulty.
- Wrong voucher type. Vouchers are not interchangeable — an OTT, Blu or EasyLoad PIN will not redeem in the 1Voucher field.
- Airtime bought by mistake. Ask specifically for a 1Voucher; airtime cannot be redeemed as one.
The thing to know before you start
You cannot be paid out to a voucher. Vouchers move money in only. Winnings are paid to a verified bank account in your own name, and there is no exception to this — it is a regulatory requirement, not an operator preference.
So if you are depositing by voucher because you have no bank account, plan the exit before you play. You will need an account in your own name to withdraw, plus FICA verification. Sorting that out early costs nothing; discovering it after a win is the frustrating version. See how withdrawals work.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I buy a 1Voucher?
For cash at participating retailers across South Africa — supermarkets, petrol stations, spaza shops and similar outlets. You receive a slip with a PIN printed on it, which is what you redeem at the cashier.
My 1Voucher says it has already been redeemed. What now?
The PIN has been used. If you did not use it, the slip may have been compromised before you got it or the number misread. Contact the voucher issuer with the slip — the casino cannot recover value spent elsewhere.
Can I use part of a voucher?
Often yes, with a new PIN issued for the remaining value. Write that new PIN down straight away — it replaces the original, which stops working, and the leftover value exists only in the new number.
Can I withdraw my winnings to a 1Voucher?
No. Vouchers only move money in. Winnings are paid to a verified bank account in your own name, which is a regulatory requirement. If you deposit by voucher because you have no bank account, arrange one before you need to cash out.
Do I need a bank account to deposit with 1Voucher?
No, and that is the point of it — you buy the voucher with cash. You will need a bank account in your own name to withdraw winnings, though, so it is worth arranging one early rather than at the point of cashing out.
